School is out and our thoughts go to the beach and vacations. There is still lots of work to be done in the landscape and garden. Many perennials thrive in the hot summer heat. Trees provide cooling shade. Many shrubs repeat their blooms throughout the summer. Landscapes and gardens can remain festive as fireworks explode around July 4th, and help us through the "back to school" doldrums that can depress our late summer months.
